The Anna Paulownastraat has traditionally been the axis of the most beautiful part of the Zeeheldenkwartier. With the redevelopment of the center, the Anna Paulownaplein with its various terraces, and the marvelous stately houses, is a beautiful, attractive street on the fringe of the city center. The location is extremely convenient and all amenities are close by: green facilities with the Palace Garden and Zorgvliet Park within walking distance, various pleasant shopping areas in the area such as the Piet Heinstraat with traditional craft shops and the pleasant streets of the city center with virtually all retail chains and various bars and restaurants, amongst others on the Noordeinde. Public transport routes are close by with bus route 24 and tram routes 1 and 16. The highways are easy to reach via the Mauritskade and, finally, the beach is also at an acceptable bicycle distance with a pleasant bike ride through a green part of The Hague.
October 2016 – May 2017
Shared entrance at street level with communal hallway, followed directly by the own front door via a cleverly designed easy walking staircase up to the second floor. Here a light, spatial landing has been created with large wide opening doors with windows in metal block style. There is a separate toilet with a hand washbasin.
Via wide opening doors you come into the impressively large, pleasantly laid out living room with open fireplace. The floor is laid with particularly attractive broad plank parquet, which also comes back in the rest of the house. At the front, the room is across the full width of the property, which emphasizes the spatial feel. At the back is the open kitchen, with of course, all the luxury equipment expected: an induction cooker with integrated extractor hood, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, combi-oven, Quooker and even a wine refrigerator. The high gloss kitchen cabinets and dark colored composite countertop add to the luxurious appearance. At the back, wide opening doors open onto the south-west facing sun terrace. Here is the ideal sunshine in the afternoon and the beginning of the evening. The good length of the terrace offers more than enough space for a large dining table to enjoy outdoor dining.
From the living room, an easy walking, open staircase leads up to the 3rd floor. Here, there is a landing with toilet and hand washbasin and a separate space for the washing machine and dryer. The spacious master bedroom is located at the back of the house and has an en suite bathroom. The bathroom has an especially luxurious finish where attractive materials have been used. There is a double walk-in shower, unit with double washbasins, a bathtub and electric under floor heating. At the front of the building there are a further 2 bedrooms on this floor. For these rooms there is a second bathroom on this floor in the same color scheme as the main bathroom. There is a walk in shower and washbasin unit.
A fixed staircase leads to the 4th floor. On the landing there is a large storage cupboard with the installation for the central heating boiler. Both at the front and the back of this floor is a bedroom, which has a very atmospheric feel due to the sloped ceiling. The bedrooms are connected through the “Jack & Jill” bathroom with walk-in shower, toilet and washbasin unit.
